Yukio “Max” Yamamoto, 100, of Pahoa died Nov. 27 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Pahoa, he was the retired general contractor for the former Yama’s General Contracting and member of Taishoji Soto Mission, Taishoji Busshin Kai, East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Kyu Pahoa Kumiai and Pahoa Nikkei Jin Kai. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
