DOH seeks comments on Honua Ola’s injection well permit application

The state Department of Health’s Safe Drinking Water Branch is seeking comments about Honua Ola Bioenergy’s (formerly Hu Honua Bioenergy) final report and modeling report of its application to operate an injection well at the Pepeekeo site of the almost completed wood-burning power plant.

These reports are the final documents needed to complete the permit application process. Before a permit to operate the injection wells is processed, comments are being sought about the proposed injection well operation to guide permitting requirements and actions.

All comments are to be submitted to SDWB@doh.hawaii.gov by Aug. 31.
