Survived by sister, Maureen Hollidge of Sussex, England; brother, John Chart Sr. of Kent, England; sister, Karen (Michael) Thomas of South Wales, Great Britain; son, Brian Marlow of Oregon; dear friend, Betty Kaeo of Pahoa; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Harumi Kawamoto, 95, of Waimea died April 28 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Hilo, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Ben Franklin Store in Waimea and member of Paauilo Konkoji Mission and Paauilo Hongwanji Mission. Private services held. Survived by son, Curtis Kawamoto of Waimea; daughter, Iris (Guylon) Okada of Hilo; brothers, Thomas Shindo of Hilo and Wallace (Betty) Shindo of California; sisters-in-law, Tamae Shindo and Asako Shindo of Hilo, Dorothy Shindo of Illinois; three grandsons and two great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. Jovencio M. Pimentel Sr., 70, of Naalehu died April 16 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born in the Philippines, he was a heavy equipment operator and highways worker. Services held. Survived by wife, Zenaida M. Pimentel; sons, Jovencio M. (Emiliana) Pimentel Jr., Mark Philip M. Pimentel and John Edward King M. Pimentel; daughter, Maria Jovaida (Darian) Pimentel-Holiday; brothers, Romolo M. Heribert Pfecht, 75, of Honokaa, formerly of Kapaau, died May 4 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. No known survivors. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Born in Manhasset, N.Y., he owned Kahua Exotic Tropical Fruits Farm in Pepeekeo, was a physical therapist, CEO of Oncologic, a biotech company working on a treatment for cancer, and graduated with honors from Stanford University with degrees in chemistry and biology. Celebration of life after the COVID-19 pandemic. Memorial donations to Hawaii Island Humane Society.
