Lucia Aguinaldo Albano, 94, of Keaau died Oct. 16 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Laoag City, Philippines, she was a retired papaya packer for Diamond Head Papaya Co. Graveside service 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Face mask and social distancing required. Survived by sons, Orlando (Fely) Albano, Eduardo (Lodivita) Albano and Modesto Albano of Keaau; daughter, Rosalina Labuguen of Honolulu; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Brian Katsumi Shindo, 61, of Hilo died Nov. 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, commercial fisherman and a retired technical sergeant with the U.S. Air Force. Private services. Survived by wife, Kerima Lee-Wai Shindo of Hilo; daughters, Myra Shindo and Koreylene Medeiros of Honolulu, Kimilee Ortiz and Kerrilee Rocha of Hilo; son, Jaimie Enos of Hilo; sister, Teri (Shane) Agno of Honolulu; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Simplicio Pascua Vermudez, 82, of Keaau died Nov. 5 at home. Born in Salanap, Pinili, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a laborer for an orchid and plant nursery and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Pahoa. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Rosary at 6 p.m. Wake service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Dodo Mortuary chapel. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Face masks and social distancing required. Survived by wife, Loreta Vermudez of Keaau; daughters, Michelle (Wyn Jan) Estavillo of Keaau, Marnellie (Mario) Fiesta of Kahului, Maui, and Cristee (Jeffry Badua) Vermudez of Ewa Beach, Oahu; sisters, Imelda (Elmer) Pitpit and Warlita (Alfredo) Manuel of Pahoa, Patricia Baligad and Claire (Reynaldo) Inay of Delano, Calif.; brothers, Jose Vermudez of Keaau and Ceferino (Buena) Vermudez of Honolulu; seven grandchildren.
