Andrew James Christy, 58, of Ocean View died May 5 at home. Born in Morristown, N.J., he was a self-employed auto mechanic and U.S. Army veteran. No services. Survived by companion, Dee Palakiko of Ocean View; son, Andrew Christy Jr. of Everett, Wash.; sister, Carol Starke of Pine Brook, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Mary Evander, 93, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Keaau, died May 10 in Potomac, Md. Born in Los Angeles, she was a retired library assistant at California State University, Long Beach, former typist at the Los Angeles Times, a reader, walker, lover of movies, political cartoons and puns and conservationist. No services. Survived by son, Paul Evander of Tahoe City, Calif.; daughters, Janet (Mark Wimer) Evander of College Park, Md., and Christine (Peter) Loos of Keaau.

James “Jim” Albert Grazzini Jr., 71, of Kurtistown died May 8 with his loving wife, Susan, by his side. Born in San Francisco, he was a teacher and woodworker who transformed Big Island homes. Robert E. Saucerman, 88, of Hilo died April 30 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Florida, he was a retired fuel superintendent in the U.S. Air Force. Survived by daughter, Erin Fernandes of Mountain View; brothers Ira (Judy) Saucerman of Vero Beach, Fla., and Louis (Eunice) Saucerman of Worthington Springs, Fla.; sisters, Amanda Strange, Gladys (Noah) Spivey and Marie (Sam) Hancock of Palatka, Fla., Tanya Braun of Middleburg, Fla.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
