Born in Hilo, he worked at Hilo Coast Processing Co., owned C&A Farms, retired from BEI Phoenix 5 LLC and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Saturday (July 6) at Papaikou Hongwanji Hall. Service noon-1 p.m. Celebration of life 1-4 p.m. Survived by wife, Apryl Madamba-Fiesta; children, Shanda (Kalani) Santiago, John (Rita) Coltes, Jennifer Castro and Angela (Devan) Aburamen; brothers, Isaac (Mary Jane) Fiesta and Frederick (Charlene) Fiesta; sister, Katherine (Roy) Galigo; 11 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Samuel Kaomi Akina, 74, of Hilo died June 16 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oahu, he was a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local No. 3.
