Abjang Ebot, 79, of Kona, died on June 18 at home. Born in Marshall Islands, he was a pastor and member of BNJ Marshallese First International Church. Visitation and all-night vigil from 9 a.m. Friday, July 5, at BNJ Marshallese First International Church 74-5596 Pawai Pl. in Kailua-Kona. Visitation again 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 6, for funeral service. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Ezra Ebot of Kona; sons, Randy (Jocelyn) Ebot of Majuro, Marshall Islands, Carlson (Jacqueline) Ebot of Hilo, Absen (Sherlina) Ebot of Oahu, Houston (Elmita) Ebot, Abjang (Aritha) Ebot Jr. and Dick (Irene) Ebot of Kona; daughters, Catherine (Ranson) Lolin of Hilo, Chianna (Livai) Mongkeya and Jessica (Bratly) Joram of Kona, Jessita (Jimmy) Lakmis of Oahu; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Juliette “Julie” Ann Medeiros, 81, of Mountain View died June 23 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Pepeekeo. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Wednesday (July 3) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by children, Val (Carmen Bruno) Medeiros of Colorado, David P. Medeiros of Mountain View, Paula G. Medeiros of Hilo, Jeffrey (Paula M. Medeiros) Medeiros and Mark Medeiros of Mountain View; brother, Alan (Audrey) Meyers of Hilo; partner, Tadashi Haimoto of Hilo; brothers-in-law, Robert (Lorraine) Medeiros of Papaikou and Marion Medeiros of California; sister-in-law, Emily Amaral of Nevada; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Eugene “Skip” Barton Penrose, 83, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 2 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in San Diego, he was a taxi driver in Alaska, life member of Elks Club, member of Shriners, and veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Graveside service noon Monday (July 1) at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Margaret Spinney Penrose of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Michael (Adeline) Silva of Kailua-Kona; five step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
