Chain saws, blower stolen from Waimea business

Police are investigating the theft of tree service equipment from a rural Waimea location.

At 7:45 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a theft from a storage container in the baseyard for Pacific Island Trees, just east of Puanuanu Place off Mamalahoa Highway.

Stolen equipment included 11 Stihl chain saws, four Stihl pole chain saws, a Stihl backpack blower and a 5-gallon red plastic gas can.

Investigators determined the incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 a.m. Friday.

Potential witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.

    That’s quite a haul.
    Either there are some very lucky thieves out there.
    or it’s an inside job.
    Good luck on getting this stuff back.
    People buy this kind of stuff.
    The Company better start their own investigation and start firing guys.
