North Hawaii Community Hospital patients restricted to hospital beds now have upgraded, high-definition entertainment thanks to an anonymous donor and high-definition cable service.
The old analog televisions have been replaced by high-definition, flat screen televisions and enhanced programming.
“We are happy to be able to offer our patients more choices,” said Arielle Faith Michael, the Waimea hospital’s service excellence and holistic team leader. “Having more programming options and the visual beauty of high definition can really make a difference to a patient by giving them something else to focus on.”
In addition to the expanded programming, the hospital will continue to offer its CARE channel (Continuous Ambient Relaxation Environment) that provides peaceful nature scenes, and a new hospital information channel.
