Hilo 5/10K on Sunday
The Big Island Road Runners’ Hilo Bay 5/10K race is 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Reeds Bay.
The race is $35 for nonmembers, $30 for members, included is a dry-fit running tank on a first-come, first-served basis.
Race-day registration starts at 6:30 a.m. Those who already have registered can pick up their bibs and tank tops at Big Island Running Company store in Hilo from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. There will also be registration on Saturday.

Yanagi, Kanno are top juniors
Hilo’s Pono Yanagi and Isaiah Kanno won their age divisions at the 3rd annual Hualalai Junior Classic on Sunday in the two-day event held by the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association.
Yanagi, a Kamehameha freshman, shot a 6-over-par 75-75—150 total to capture the boys 13-14 title at the Hualalai Golf Club by two shots over Honolulu’s Davis Lee.
Kanno, an eighth grader, carded a 7-over 80-71—151 total to take the boys 11-12 title by five strokes over Honolulu’s Jake Sequin and Kelly Chinn.
Sunrise Athletics holding runs
Sunrise Athletic will hold a 10-kilometer, 5K run/walk and 1.5-mile keiki fun run at 7:45 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Pana’ewa Park & Gymnasium.
The first 100 individuals to register will have their name placed in drawing for a one night stay at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort and the early deadline is Oct. 9.

Archery classes for ages 9-up
The Waiakea Recreation Center will offer beginners archery classes ages for 9 years old and above.
The program will be 2:30-4 p.m. from Oct. 14-Nov. 25, 2015.
Registration is $15 is limited to the first 12 paid participants.
