Police seek ID of theft suspect

SUSPECT

Police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying a woman they say was involved in a theft last month in Waimea.

On May 3, between 8:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., an unidentified woman suspect was captured on video surveillance removing a handheld electronic tablet valued at $100 from a shopping cart at a store in the 65-0000 block of Mamalahoa Highway. The woman is described as possibly in her 30s to 40s with a fair complexion, 5-feet-7 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with red hair. She was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black leggings, and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone who knows the suspect’s identity is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300.
