Born in Mountain View, she worked for the U.S. Air Force, in administration at Hilo Medical Center and as a substitute teacher, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, HHHB Buddhist Women’s Association, HGEA, Piihonua Kumiai, HGEA Retirees, Hilo Ki-Aikido Club and Sing Out Hilo.
