Established in 1910, Scouting America, Aloha Council, has been dedicated to serving the youth of our community for over 100 years.
In 1913, Hilo, Kohala and Honokaa formed the first troops and were supported by the council.
Kilauea Council served Hawaii Island from 1922 for 50 years.
Legacy partnerships with companies and churches such as Honpa Hongwanji-Hilo Betsuin, KTA Super Stores and Hawaii Planing Mill laid the foundation for a rich Scout community steeped in service, generosity and aloha.
Island companies and churches continue to partner and support programs like Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts, the Order of the Arrow, and the contributions of Eagle Scouts.
They are cultivating communities to uplift the youth of Hawaii and the Pacific.
With over 2,000 adult volunteers and over 4,000 scouts, the council provides resources for children to build character with career readiness skills and leadership.
