Kenneth Masao Kubo, 89, of Hilo died Nov. 12 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hakalau, he was a retired licensed practical nurse/emergency medical technician for Hilo Medical Center, had worked at Kuakini Medical Center on Oahu, Hawaii Army National Guard veteran and member of Waiakea Baptist Bible Church, Hawaii County Nutrition Program and Yamaguchi Kenjinkai.
