Janice Maxwell Unger, 97, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 1 in Keaau. Born in Long Beach, Calif., she was an educator and was instrumental in starting Parker School. She and her late husband Thomas Unger went on to own and operate the Honomu Plantation Store. Visitation starts at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Kailua-Kona. No flowers. Memorial donations to Parker School’s The Smart Center or Hawaii Care Choices.
