Photo courtesy of Chris Barela Hawi artist Chris Barela first made a 1/4-scale preliminary sculpture using four different Hawaii models, including Wyatt Elder of Puako, to create the 18-foot bronze statue that will be unveiled today in Manhattan Beach, Calif. It is the third of three pieces he made for the Beach Cities area.
