Sister Jessie Alai Kai, 80, of Honolulu, died Dec. 2 at the Malia O Ka Malu convent in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, she was a Catholic nun of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and Perpetual Admiration. A graduate of St. Joseph Hilo School and the former Hilo Business College, she worked for Kai Store and Bank of Hawaii. In 44 years as a sister, she taught at Sacred Hearts Academy, helped found Sacred Hearts Parish in Waianae and a Sacred Hearts community at St. Damien Parish in Kaunakakai, Molokai, among other accomplishments. Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 14) at St. Margaret Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Academy in Honolulu. Eulogies at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial at 1 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kaneohe, Oahu. William “Buddy” Louis Greenwood, 75, of Honokaa died on Nov. 7 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Lillian Ku‘ualoha Keli‘ipio, 92, of Keaukaha, died Nov. 21 at Okano Care Home in Keaau. Born in Hilo, she was a retired county recreational assistant, Hilo High School graduate who also attended Kapiolani School and St. Joseph School, earned a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Honors in liberal studies at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and was a membr of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, Keaukaha Community Association and Na Wahine O Kamehameha, Royal Order of Kamehameha I. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 14) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m Thursday, Dec. 15, at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, 326 Desha Ave. in Hilo.
