Woman faces two felony drug charges

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with two felony drug offenses after being arrested Oct. 5.

According to County Prosecutor Kelden Waltjen, Courtney Jordan Cato is charged with two counts of second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. In a statement, he said Cato was in possession of 25 or more fentanyl pills and an eighth-ounce or more of methamphetamine.

Both offenses are Class B felonies that carry a maximum 10-year prison sentence upon conviction.

Waltjen’s release described Cato as a Washington woman, but she was booked by police under a Keaau address.

According to Waltjen bail had been set at $50,000 and she was scheduled to appear Monday in Hilo District Court.
