Vernon William Silva, 74, of Keaau died July 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kaneohe, Oahu, he was a retired driver for The Bus on Oahu. Funeral service 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday (Aug. 1) at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Lower Chapel at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe. Burial to follow. Survived by children, Nalani (Ernest T. Pablo Jr.) Silva-Pablo, Jason (Laura Fabella-Silva) Silva, Nathan (Moani) Silva and Kalei Silva; siblings, Gilbert Silva Jr., Diana Konohia and Myron Shimamoto; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
