James Nobino Acol Sr., 79, of Kailua-Kona died May 31 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, he was a retired painter at the Royal Kona Resort, fisherman and diver, member of the Monday Mixed Bowling League, Wednesday Night Mixed Nuts League, TGIF Bowling League and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by sons, James (Rebecca) Acol Jr. of Crestview, Fla., Jacey Acol of Kailua-Kona and Reed (Malinda) Acol of Hood River, Ore.; daughter, Neivbea (Todd) Zane of Kealakekua; sisters, Octavia Muraoka of Kalaoa, Kona, Olivia Sasada of Kailua-Kona and Judy DeMello of Holualoa; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
