Samuel “Uncle Sonny” Buentipo Castillo, 73, Hilo died June 7 at home. Born in Balais, Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines, he worked for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and was a retired car salesman for the Chevrolet and Hilo-Mazda-Subaru dealerships, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and founder and organizer of the Filipino Basketball Association, county Parks and Rec basketball referee and KPUA Radio announcer. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
