A fire late Saturday night destroyed an abandoned home on Old Volcano Trail in Keaau.
Nine units responded to the 11:15 p.m. alarm with the first unit on scene at 11:23, according to a written Hawaii Fire Department statement.
Arriving firefighters found the two-story structure fully involved in flames and the roof collapsed. The first was reported under control at 11:30 p.m. and extinguished at 1:55 a.m. Sunday.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened by the fire.
According to the statement, the property owner told firefighters the house was abandoned and had no value.
