Deborah Lynn Baker, 67, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 31 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Los Angeles, she was executive director of the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, former Ironman Triathlon World Championship race director, past board chair of Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, former member of the University of Hawaii at Hilo Chancellor’s Leadership and Development Council, Hawaii Community College Chancellor’s Advisory Council and Hawaii Preparatory Academy of Trustees. She was a past-president of the Hawaii Preparatory Academy Alumni Association, founding member and former director of the Onizuka Memorial Committee, former commissioner of the Hawaii County Police Commission and Hawaii County Board of Ethics. She received the Hawaii Community College Mahalo Award and Kona-Kona Chamber of Commerce Member of the Year Award. Services at a later date. Philibert “Ski” F. Kwiatkowski, 74, of Puu Hue, Kohala, died Dec. 23 at home.
