Police seek owner of kayak found adrift

Hawaii Island police are seeking leads on the owner of a two-person kayak found adrift in Hilo Bay Friday morning.

The yellow Malibu Series Ocean kayak was found by another kayaker at 8:57 a.m. and reported to the Hawaii Fire Department. There are no reports of missing persons at this time.

Anyone with information to ID the kayak’s owner is asked to call the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
