Police ID pedestrian killed in Puna traffic crash

Police have identified a pedestrian who died at The Queen’s Medical Center after being hit by a pickup truck Wednesday on Kahikopele Road in Eden Roc subdivision as 54-year-old Aaron L. Sombrio of Mountain View.

Police think Sombrio was walking east on the roadway at about 7:40 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound 2002 GMC Sonoma pickup truck.

A negligent homicide investigation has been opened.
