Jeffrey Choi, 79, of Hilo died Sept. 28 at home. Born in Wahiawa, Oahu, he was a retired attorney and Hawaii District Court judge. No services. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Fredie Sulquiano Domingo, 42, of Kapaau died Sept. 14 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Marcos, Ilocos Norte, he was an assistant manager for a printing company in Dubai, insurance agent for Fil-Am Life Insurance Company, call center operator, and member of St. Padua Catholic Church in the Philippines. Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi. Seating limited; mask and social distancing required. Survived by parents, Modesto and Felicidad Domingo of Kapaau; sisters, Frecia (Eric) Aludino and Jenny (Runald) Domingo of Kapaau; hanai sisters, Clarita Tagaca of Hawi and Gloria (Artemio) Abian of Kapaau; hanai brother, Chris (Helen) Sulquiano of Kapaau; maternal grandfather, Mariano Sulquiano of Hawi; maternal grandmother, Concepcion Sulquiano of Philippines; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Adolph “Al” N. Gafkowski Jr., 78, of Hilo died on Sept. 26 at home. Born in Chicago, he worked for I.B.M. and The Computer Store and was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran. No services. Survived by wife, Paige Gafkowski; brother, James Gafkowski; many cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Donna Bea Smith, 90, of North Kohala died Sept. 17 at home. Born in Burley, Idaho, she was a homemaker and member of The Tennis Club at Mauna Lani and Mauna Kea Seaside Tennis Club. Private services. Survived by husband, Gerald Smith of North Kohala; daughter, Linda Lum of Texas; sons, Mark Smith of Hawaiian Paradise Park and Stephen Smith of Wailuku, Maui; brother, Ward Naylor of California; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters.
