Donald Patrick Goo, 63, of Hilo died May 6 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a houseman for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and member of several hula halau and Monday Night Mix Bowling League Team Dahla-Dahla. Urn committal 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Flowers and lei welcome. Survived by sisters, Geraldine “Gerri” (Ken) Kapono of Homeland, Calif., and Paulette “Paula” (Harvey) Goo-Haimoto of Kailua-Kona; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Shirley Lou McCalla, 87, of Kailua-Kona died May 5 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Orange County, Calif., she was an artist, fashion model, philanthropist, caretaker and member of Presbyterian Church of Laguna Beach, E Bell Club of Laguna Beach and Tall Club of Orange County. Celebration of life at a later date. Survived by daughter, Susan (Frank) Ornellas of Kailua-Kona; sons, Vincent (Cheryl) McCalla and Victor (Nancy) McCalla of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
