Effective Monday, the Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa will be closed to the public and suspend all programs through March 31. The center will continue to monitor the current national emergency and update the community with any plans to further extend the closure.
The Donkey Mill is a community arts center dedicated to providing art education and experiences for all ages and abilities. As a community, it collectively cares for its shared space and the health and well-being of the many who enjoy it together.
While there are currently no known cases of COVID-19 on Hawaii Island, the Donkey Mill community is taking precautions, particularly with so many cherished kupuna among them.
During this closure, staff will be available to answer any questions via telephone or email. Please contact them at info@donkeymillartcenter.org for any general inquiries or special requests to pick up artwork.
“Ours is a resilient, committed community with strongly knitted ties among staff, volunteers, teaching artists, board, community partners, founders and many members,” said Donkey Mill Art Center executive director Maja Clark. “The Donkey Mill hopes to continue to serve as a source of connection to navigate these changing times.”
