Robert Browning Adams, 79, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 20 at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Santa Monica, Calif., he was a retired state social worker and member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hilo. Private service held. Survived by sons, Jerold (Dana) Adams of Kailua-Kona and Steven (Lina) Adams of California; brother, James Adams of California; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. John Paul Blankenship, 53, no permanent address, died June 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Meriden, Conn., he was a U.S. Army veteran. No known survivors. Relatives are asked to call (808) 322-9592. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.


Vernon Koji Hasegawa, 80, of Pepeekeo died Aug. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo, he was retired from Servco Pacific and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Private services held. David John Schweitz, 67, of Santa Rosa, Calif., died May 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pasadena, Calif., he was a fisherman and photographer. Christopher Wayne “Rainbow Man” Subica Sr., 69, of Mountain View died Aug. 21 at home. Born in Hawaii, he was a construction worker and U.S. Army veteran. Private services at a later date.
