Delfey Mae Carvalho Gordon, 73, of Cleveland, Miss., formerly of Hilo, died May 16 at home. She was born in Honolulu. Visitation 3-4 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, Miss. Memorial service at 4 p.m. Survived by husband, Raymond Gordon; daughter, Lisa Lipe of Boyle, Miss.; mother, Roseline Victorine of Hilo; siblings, Ernest Carvalho Jr. of Nevada, Clyde Victorine of Mississippi, Rodney Victorine of California and Elsie Yim of Hawaii; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Juliana Ramoran Galapon, 86, of Keaau died April 27 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Luna, Isabela, Philippines, she was a former nursery worker. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by daughters, Norma Bolosan of Papaaloa, Zenaida Agngarayngay of Keaau, Mildred (Pedrito) Mercado of Maui, Carol (Francisco) Mangoba of Papaaloa and Rowena (Nathan) Takiguchi of Hilo; son, Ruben (Marites) Galapon of Keaau; sisters, Gregoria Magaoay and Natividad (Marcelino) Galutera of the Philippines; sister-in-law, Antonia Ramoran of San Diego; brother-in-law, Mariano (Agustina) Galapon of Canada; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Clara Hanako Ichiriu, 90, of Keaau died May 8 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired salesperson and member of Kurtistown Jodo Mission. Private services held. Survived by husband, Reynold Ichiriu of Keaau; son, Alan Ichiriu of Los Angeles; daughters, Dayle (Alfred) Tsuha of Kurtistown and Teri (Myles Ibara) Ichiriu of Honolulu; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Helen Kalolina Kamalii, 76, of Hilo died May 6 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Naalehu, she was a homemaker and member of Zion’s House of Praise Holiness Church. Celebration of life 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 25, at Kurtistown Assembly of God, 17-550 Volcano Highway. Casual attire. Survived by companion, Gary Nakagawa; children, Ernest (Laura) Balai Jr., Erlinda Martinez, Manuel (Laura) Balai and Aaron (Kahea) Balai; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George Kauhaku Mundon, 63, of Kauai, formerly of Panaewa, died April 30 at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery at Hanapepe. Casual attire. Survived by mother, Leona Mundon-Kahoonei of Hilo; father, Richard Kahoonei of Hilo; sister, Laurilyn (Frank) Puni of Anahola, Kauai: sister, Kennydeane Kane of Kapaa, Kauai; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Nonaina “Sonny” Hoapili Makahi, 83, of Waikoloa died May 11 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired van driver for Roberts Hawaii, worked for the former Hyatt Regency Waikoloa and Hapuna Beach Prince hotel and member of Waikoloa Seniors Group, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Waikoloa Ward and worked in the Laie and Kona LDS temples. Celebration of life 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waimea Chapel. Graveside service at a later date at Diamond Head Memorial Park in Honolulu. Dolly Jo “Tutu Lady” Sayre Wong, 90, of Pahoa died May 7 in Pahoa. Born in Coalgate, Okla., she was retired director of nursing at Maui Memorial Hospital, a nurse at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and Palm Springs Hospital, custom doll maker and foster mother. Celebration of life 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Hilo Methodist Church and 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Ala Lani Methodist Church in Kahului, Maui. Survived by children, Gary “Kid” Sayre, Cindy Spencer, Kathy Lee Sayre and Kalei Wong; brother, Clarence Sprague; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
