Akito “Akat” Imai, 89, of Hawi died March 27 at Kohala Hospital. Born in Halawa, Kohala, he was a retired construction laborer, member of Kohala Jodo Mission and U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Kohala Jodo Mission in Kapaau. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Inurnment service noon Monday, April 22, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 in Hilo. Survived by wife, Ayako Imai of Hawi; sons, Derrik (Jewelle) Imai of Hilo and Clinton (Cheryl) Imai of Kapaau; daughter, Jamie Takimoto of Captain Cook; sisters-in-law, Tsuyako Miyashiro of Los Angeles, Natsue Yoneda of Honolulu, Helene McKee of Bedford, Ind., and Joyce (Hank) Gronefeld of Savannah, Ga.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Misuko “Mitzi” Inouye, 90, of Aiea, Oahu, died April 3. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired sales associate for J.C. Penney. Robert “Bobby” Manuel Jenkins, 88, of Holualoa died March 27 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired chief agent for Hawaiian Airlines, cattle rancher and macadamia nut farmer. Survived by wife, Alice Jenkins of Holualoa; sons, Gary Jenkins of Honolulu, Brian (Carvat) Jenkins of Holualoa and James (Kyoko) Jenkins of Kailua-Kona; sister, Stella Aiu of Honolulu; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Valerie “Val” Kealohi-Regohos, 56, of Kailua-Kona died March 24 at her family’s home. Born in Honolulu, she was a bus driver for Robert’s Hawaii, Iosepa Transportation and Speedi-Shuttle. Stewart Maruo Miyamoto, 63, of Kailua-Kona died April 3 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a commercial fisherman and co-owner of Heola, former engineer for Hualalai Resort and founding member of Club Kahauloa Hawaii. Service information at a later date. Survived by wife, Susan Miyamoto of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Christina Miyamoto and Lila (Fernando) Gouveia of California; brother, Stanford Miyamoto of Honolulu; sister, Wilma Bockhaus of Honolulu; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Keala Leopold Waiau, 59, of Kahului, Maui, formerly of Hilo, died March 19 at Hospice Maui Hale. Born in Honolulu, he worked for the County of Maui Department of Water Supply, was a member of Ke Aha Vineyard Christian Ministry Church, Hilo High School graduate and enjoyed skating, surfing and playing bass guitar. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 29, at Ballard Family Mortuary in Kahului. Memorial service at noon. Survived by sons, Christian (Janey) Waiau and Justin (Sheri Kadohiro) Waiau of Lahaina; daughter, Bethany Waiau (Irvin) Castaneda of Kahului; brothers, Kaina (Healani) Waiau and Kaimi Waiau of Hilo, Kaleo Waiau (Shelley) of Wailuku, Maui; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
