AP analysis: Shutdown 2.0? Trump has reasons to avoid repeat

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump learned during the past month a valuable Washington lesson that old-timers such as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell learned long ago: Shutdowns never work.
