Leslie D. Correia, 73, of Kalopa died Nov. 24 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired Hawaii County police officer, watermelon farmer, rancher, former owner of Alfalfa Hay and Cubes Feed Store in Paauilo and U.S. Navy veteran. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Kay Correia of Kalopa; daughters, Lisa (Matthew) Correia-Burger of Olalla, Wash., and Michelle (Paul) Correia of Kalopa; son, Brendon (Zelina) Correia of Honokaa; brother, Rodger (Linda) Clark of Texas; sister, Jheriann Maier of Florida; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Paulyn Malia (Sweezey) Estioko, 51, of Huntington Beach, Calif., died Dec. 19 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a flight attendant for American Airlines. Celebration of life 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Onekahakaha Beach Park, large pavilion. Turquoise and white or aloha attire requested. No flowers. Survived by mother, Ellen Quiocho; siblings, Cisco (Tasha) Quiocho Jr., Misty Quiocho, Dawn (Michael) Palmerston and Sommer (Melo) Castillo of Hilo; boyfriend, Mohcine Chirar of California; hanai children, Loreal (Jesse) Gonzales, CJ Sweezey and Megan Salvado of Hilo, Skyler Salvado of California and Priscilla Wassman of Honolulu; mother-in-law, Rose Estioko of California; caregivers, Veronica Alvarez, Christina Cole and Cathy Horiba of California; a grandson.

Basilia aka “Bella” Gumtang Respicio, 81, of Hilo died Dec. 12 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Urdanet, Pangasinan, the Philippines, she was a retired cashier for the former Sure Save Supermarkets and member of Upper Ainaola Kumiai, Pangasinan Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 10) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 11) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Burial 11:30 a.m. at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima section. Survived by son, Rex (Shanessa) Respicio of Hilo; brothers, Julian (Linda) Gumtang and Ariston (Amalia) Gumtang of the Philippines; sisters, Maxima Moniz of the Philippines, Candida (Renato) Astrande of South Carolina and Isabel (Efren) Belmonte of Las Vegas; four grandchildren.
