Hilo robbery suspect charged

Police have charged a 21-year-old Hilo man in connection with an early Monday morning robbery that occurred in the alcove of the Palace Theater in Hilo.

On Tuesday, detectives charged Elijah Lopez with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and fourth-degree theft.

Lopez remains in custody at the Hawaii Community Correctional Center in lieu of $12,250 bail.
