Streetlight repair causes traffic detour Saturday

The Hamakua-bound lane at the intersection of Kamehameha Avenue and Pauahi Street in Hilo, which is used to access the Bayfront Highway, will be closed Saturday between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. to reinstall a streetlight pole damaged in a traffic collision, weather permitting.

The county Department of Public Works advises motorists to expect delays and encourages the use of Waianuenue Avenue to access Highway 19 for Hamakua-bound traffic.
