She served as note editor for the Journal of Law &Public Policy, president of the Native American Law Student Association and co-president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Nakamoto is a graduate of Christian Liberty Academy in Keaau and Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu. She is the daughter of Wayne and Rhonda Nakamoto.
• Alex Magoon of Waimea graduated from the University of San Diego on May 27. Magoon earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate.
• Emily Harwell and Kyle Willocks of Hilo were among those who received degrees from the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley) during spring 2018 commencement ceremonies May 4-5.
Harwell received a bachelor of Arts in anthropology and Willocks received a bachelor of arts in criminology and criminal justice, cum laude.
