Dorothy Jean “Jeannie” Brooks, 83, of Hawaiian Paradise Park, formerly of Contra Costa County, Calif., died Dec. 14 at Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired U.S. Postal Service mail carrier, who loved dancing, especially square dancing and hula. She danced for Johnny Lum Ho’s Halau O Ka Ua Kani Lehua and performed at Hawaiian Paradise Park Senior Center. Theodore Shigeki Ishii, 91, of Los Angeles, formerly of Honomu, died March 26 at Kei-Ai Los Angeles Healthcare Center. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
