The start of Ward’s seventh-grade year at Hilo Intermediate will have to wait.
He bashed two home runs Monday on Oahu and also played ace on the mound with 10 strikeouts in a two-hitter as the Hilo All-Stars won the state Little League Majors championship.
Ward and his ages 11-12 teammates are gearing up for the West Regional, Aug. 6-12 in San Bernardino.
