Hilo airport receives award from FAA

Hilo International Airport received an outstanding airport award from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA announced the award June 13 during the annual Airports Conference Awards.

The award is for “outstanding and continued safety and compliance performance,” the state Department of Transportation said in a press release.
