Enjoying his summer break between his sophomore and junior years at Kamehameha, Yanagi got in a productive few days of qualifying on Kauai.

A titan off the tee, he booked another trip to the junior world championships in San Diego, shooting consecutive 72 at Wailua Golf Course. He added a 69 a day later at Wailua to reach the Boys Junior PGA Championship in Missouri.
