Call center explanation

Last week, a water main break left many Department of Water Supply customers in upper Kaumana and Komohana areas without water. During that time, several of our customers were surprised that a call center based on the mainland was answering after-hours calls for a DWS situation on the Big Island.

The DWS has procured the services of the Call Center of Hawaii for the past five years, since it was purchased by a South Carolina-based company. CCHI, which now has agents located across the United States, has provided great service for the DWS through a number of events and outages.

However, during this past event in Hilo, at least one call center agent misrepresented himself as being physically located in Hilo. The DWS sincerely apologizes and is working closely with CCHI to remedy this and to improve how information is provided to our customers.

DWS and CCHI are committed to ensure that DWS customers are kept informed and that their concerns are being heard.

In ‘poor taste’

I’ve been biting my tongue now for almost two weeks as your Doonesbury Classics cartoons satirize Ronald Reagan, but feel I now need to say something since there seems to be no end to it.

Focusing on President Reagan’s brain and memory with this satire is in extremely poor taste, considering he was beginning to exhibit symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease while still in office, and ultimately died of it after he left office.

I’d really like to see the Tribune-Herald either discontinue this cartoon until the cartoonist moves on to a different topic, or at least increase its accuracy and relevancy by updating the cartoon’s subject to depict Hillary Clinton. She can’t seem to recall a single thing when any truthful answers during her numerous formal inquiries and congressional investigations would prove incriminating.

On second thought, Clinton’s invoking of her right to a selective memory is a little less suspicious than if she were to invoke her rights under the Fifth Amendment, so I guess it’s a tactic she’s used very successfully to deceive the majority of her supporters, who don’t recognize this decadeslong trend and the significant depth of her deceptions.

I’d settle for discontinuation of the cartoon until the cartoonist moves on to a topic other than President Reagan’s brain, and in return I’ll pray that Clinton miraculously regains her memory and becomes honest.
