The public is invited to attend a free workshop on developing conflict resolution skills as part of the “Let’s Work it Out” series offered by the University of Hawaii at Hilo from 4:45-7 p.m. Friday in Campus Center Room 301.
At the Less Talk, More Listen: Conflict Resolution workshop, participants will learn powerful and effective active listening techniques to become a better communicator at home, at school, in the workplace and in the community. Attendees will learn practical tools, including summarizing for understanding and asking appropriate questions, and historic conflict resolution practices used in various cultures.
Workshop leaders and facilitators include Julie Mitchell, executive director of the Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center, and Tim Hansen, restorative justice program manager with the Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
