The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is offering workshops about performance management and creating videos using a digital single lens reflex or mirrorless camera.
The performance management session is from 12:30-4:30 p.m. July 15 in UH-Hilo’s UCB Room 118. The cost is $45.
Managing the Performance of Others will be taught by Malati Shinazy, principal consultant for Pacific Leadership Consultants and an instructor for the University of California at Santa Barbara’s Human Resources Management Certificate Program.
Participants will learn how to identify and evaluate employee performance by expanding performance management beyond the annual appraisal to an ongoing process of goal setting, employee development, coaching and feedback. A performance management template for current and future employees will also be developed.
The video creation sessions will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays, July 22 and 29, in UH-Hilo’s UCB 125 (ITS Mac Lab). Tuition is $75.
Professional videographer and graphic designer Artin Mardirousi will teach participants how to harness the video capabilities of their DSLR or mirrorless camera. Participants will learn the essentials of DSLR videography as they capture and import footage, edit their footage with video editing software, and export their completed project as a short video.
Basic computer skills and a DSLR or mirrorless camera are required.
