Boys &Girls Club of the Big Island was the most recent beneficiary of the Ohana Fuels “Fuel up. Do good.” community giving program.
Ohana Fuels partners with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of the local community, and donates a portion of every gallon of gasoline purchased at all Ohana Fuels stations in that community. The total donation to BGCBI was $7,559.31 from gasoline sales during the first quarter at Ohana Fuels locations and proceeds from car washes during the quarter.
“BGCBI reaches 300 diverse Big Island youth daily through after-school programs in Hilo, Keaau, Pahoa, Hamakua and Pahala,” said Chad Cabral, BGCBI chief executive officer. “Our fun, creative programs focus on character building and leadership, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation.
“We actively seek to enrich the lives of girls and boys who need it most, ensuring that the community’s children and teens have greater access to quality programs, services and caring adults that will enhance their lives and shape their futures,” Cabral added.
“At Ohana Fuels, we value the exceptional work these nonprofits do to help local residents and neighborhoods,” said Kimo Haynes, president of Hawaii Petroleum.
