Ross Stores Inc. is partnering with Boys &Girls Clubs of America with a three-week program called “Help Local Kids Learn.” From Feb. 7-27, Big Island Ross Dress for Less customers can make a monetary contribution at checkout to the Boys &Girls Club of the Big Island.

Dog park group to meet via email
“Parks, Not Pounds,” a countywide group dedicated to establishing multiple dog parks for off-leash exercise and social play, no longer will meet Sundays at Starbucks in Hilo.
Because of the large number of dog lovers from other parts of the county, group members now will plan and discuss activities via e-mail at easthawaiidogpsychologycenter@yahoo.com.
Group leader Carl F. Oguss invites dog owners to join and support efforts to create a free dog parks on the Big Island.
Library to show documentaries
North Kohala Public Library, in collaboration with “POV,” the award-winning independent nonfiction film series on PBS, is presenting free screenings of two documentary films in February and March.
“Tea Time” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 29 and “The Beats of the Antonou” will screen at 6:30 p.m. March 28.

Feng shui
author to speak
Best-selling author Clear Englebert will present “Feng Shui for Love &Money,” a free informational program based on his newest book, at two Big Island libraries this month.
Englebert, author of “Feng Shui Demystified” and “Feng Shui for Hawaii,” will present the basic concepts of feng shui and suggest fixes for common problem situations. In addition, Englebert will offer easy-to-follow advice for promoting prosperity and attracting and enhancing relationships.
“Feng Shui for Love &Money” will be presented at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at Kealakekua Public Library and 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at Kailua-Kona Public Library.
This one-hour program is suitable for ages 18 and older.
