The prosecution rested Wednesday afternoon in the trial of John Krause, accused of a home invasion at a Memorial Day gathering almost two years ago in Hawaiian Paradise Park.
The defense will present its case starting 10 a.m. Monday in Hilo Circuit Judge Glenn Hara’s courtroom.
The home’s owner, Marlon Eugenio, told police and the jury he recognized Krause as one of several armed, masked assailants who drove onto his Ninth Avenue property off Makuu Drive and allegedly stole money from participants of craps and card games.
Krause is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and first-degree terroristic threatening for his alleged role in the home invasion, which took place at about 1 a.m. May 28, 2013.
