According to a fire department statement, seven units responded to the 2:10 a.m. alarm at an Amauulu Road home about 1 1/2 miles above Wainaku Street.

Arriving firefighters found the older single-family home on an unpaved dirt road off Amauulu engulfed in flames. The statement said the unpaved home made access difficult for firefighters.
