Alexander Nainoa Kaopuiki, 83, died December 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kona, he was a retired Truck Checker Boy for Hilo Transportation and Terminal Company (HT&T), a retired veteran in the Hawaii National Guard, and a rodeo bull rider. Friends may call Sunday at the Alpha &Omega Church in Hilo. Visitation from 9-10 a.m. Memorial Service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by son, Joseph “Joe” Kaopuiki of Hilo; brothers in-law, Samuel Kamoku and Peter Lee of Hilo; sister-in-law, Anna (Spike) Cordero of Hilo; hanai nieces, Gayleen (Maximino) Roldan of Hilo, Judy Carvalho and Toni Alfonso of Hilo; hanai nephew, Sidney Kamoku of Hilo. Rick Keefer, 67, of Pahoa, died Dec. 17, 2013 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in San Diego, he was the proprietor of Seawest Studios and a member of ASCAP and BMI. No services.
