John Riggle, left, and Cindy and Scott Jenkins present an official Tournament of Roses Parade flag to Randy Skaggs, right, the bandmaster at St. Joseph School and Hawaii Island staff director for the Hawaii State Marching Band, Na Koa Alii, which will carry the flag in the 125th edition of the parade on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, Calif. “Dreams Come True” is this year’s theme. The Big Isle high schools involved are St. Joseph, Hilo, Waiakea and Honokaa. The presentation was made Nov. 3 with the Edmond C. Olson Trust at the Wainaku Executive Center in Hilo. After the band members played two of their parade marches in full parade uniform, they met with the visiting parade execs, enjoyed some refreshments and received the official theme poster for this year’s parade.
