Mae Akamu, 92, of Kailua, Oahu, died Jan. 20 at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired elementary school teacher. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Kauahaao Congregational Church in Waiohinu; celebration of life at 10 a.m. Private burial. Aloha attire and no flowers. Survived by her daughters, Shirely A. Clark of Bonne Terre, Mo., and Brenda J. Esther Soon Yo Kamoku, 84, of Hilo died Jan. 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a former food service manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service.
